Some of us still remember the teacher rolling the black and white TV into the classroom so we could watch .

Yeah they stopped doing that after Challenger

Cant believe nobody bit on my "Never happened " troll....lol

Yet

I was 6 and glued to the what seemed liked a huge console TV/furniture piece we had with turn table and record storage. Most expensive thing my parents owned at the time. We watched the launch from the front yard in j’ville and could only see a streak and smoke stream in the sky when it launched. The TV seemingly stayed on a channel with coverage the entire time till they returned.
