I have a 360/5.9 liter block with the factory roller lifter yoke setup. Any idea how much valve spring pressure the factory roller lifters can handle?

I asked at the local Mopar dealer concerning reliability of the OEM roller lifters...they said there were no issues, no problems...but they are running .4ish valve lift and "lighter" spring pressure. I'm planning on running around 110-120 seat pressure and 280ish open pressure.

What material does the roller cam need to be made of to be like the OEM roller cams, so oem distributor can be used like the factory did? The factory did not need bronze gears I guess because of using a certain type cam material...
thanks.

I run Hughes springs/retainers good to. 550 lift.I think the open pressure was 325 to 350 lbs open. The cam needs to be a cast iron core. You can have your old one reground.Crower,Hughes and Bullit usually have cast iron cores on hand.Everyone else I would confirm it is a cast iron core.

If you need replacements by the Sealed Power lifters, not the Mopar. The Mopar ones are junk.

Like Moper says, you should be fine with those spring pressures.
