64 904 trans push button

Hi everyone I have a 64 904 push button trans hooked to a 318 stroker with Holley double pumper would like to know if putting trans into low and stomp on it from a stand still will the governor take over and shift into 2nd without manual shifting it into 2nd every time
? And if so what is the rpm limit on a stock govenor? The trans has been rebuilt and a Bouchillon cable kit. Thanks in advance for any and all information

Thanks now I would like to know why it shifted about 4 times that way its got me confused

Are you using the original 1964 A904 transmission? 65'

That is odd, the only time mine will shift into 2nd and 3rd is if it's in drive. If manually shifted into 1st it won't shift into 2nd unless manually shifted. 65'

it shifts fine when I leave it in 3rd gear when stopped goes through the up shifts fine I was wondering from low and stomping on it if the govenor was supposed to take over and shifts it into 2nd gear after that then I know I have to manually shift it into 3rd gear

From a dead stop in 1st, stomp the pedal to the floor, I have to manually shift into 2nd and 3rd. 65'
