I'm going to convert my 65 Barracuda to a 4 speed from a console automatic. The plate at the bottom of the steering column is bigger than what I've seen in pics of other early A's here. There is no oval shaped hole in the firewall with the plastic plug in it like later A's. There is a round hole in the general area of where a clutch rod would pass thru the firewall, but it had the speedometer cable in it. I'm wondering if automatic Barracuda's had a different firewall than 4 speed Barracuda's? Pics of where the rod from the pedal to Z bar comes thru the firewall would be a great help. Thanks in advance!

The steering has a small cover aroung the column with a rubbergasket. That small cover is mounted on a larger 5 bolt cover. That cover has the hole for the clutch rod. If you have a cover for an automatic you can make that hole.
I can get you the measurements .

Thanks for the pics guys! That helps a bunch. I may start a want ad to see if I can find a plate from a stick car. Is it just Barracudas and maybe Valiants that had the big hole in the firewall for the column to pass thru? Rat Rod Al sent me a pic of a Dart firewall from a car he parted, and that hole is smaller on the Dart. Maybe it was a model year change? I think the pic he sent was from a 63 Dart.
