I have the 65 Barracuda dash cluster out. what is the proper OEM finish? the silver in the grooved section all looks good, but the bezels and edges are white plastic. Was the whole thing originally silver?

Picts of how it "should be" would help! thanks

Should chrome around the gauges & the edge of the cluster

As an aside, I had my 65 Dart cluster (no tach) refinished by removing the old chrome/paint by soaking in Super Clean, slight sanding, then sent to Sacramento Chrome, who used a newer non-chrome chemical paint-like process to "chrome" ($110 for all dash pieces). Looks shiny and they said it holds up longer than true metal chrome. For simplicity, I made mine all chrome instead of the 2-tone w/ black paint. Looks better in my opinion.

Any pictures how it looks would be nice!

I was hoping for something a little more affordable than a 200 buck replate. very nice indeed, but not cost effective for me. Sacramento chrome? more picts and details? that might be OK...

For an economy re-do Some people have painted their dash bezels with Argent, I think Krylon full aluminum is very close.
But if chrome could be done for $100 then that is also a good method.

Almost mirror-like so hard to judge in a photo. I also removed all plastic windows and polished (2000 grit sandpaper w/ water), using a soldering iron on the plastic "rivets" and plastic epoxy to re-attach.
