Question? I have a vinyl top 66 Barracuda, and I was going to replace the front windshield gasket, but I notice since this is a vinyl top car the gasket may be different. There looks to be an elongated outer lip to the gasket that overlays the vinyl top. Can anyone confirm if this is a different gasket than a standard Barracuda/Valiant or if maybe this gasket is the same as the Valiant convertibles? I have owned the since 1980, (second owner) so I fairly sure this is the factory gasket.

Your gasket is different than my non vinyl gasket, but I don’t know where to source a reproduction

The lockstrip should be chrome. They are available I believe. Let me look in the Layson's catalog.

thanks for the reply that is what I thought might be the case -

Layson's has the weatherstrip listed. Page 556 of their latest catalog. 63-66 A body #PR-D625 $135
The chrome lockstrips are on the next page along with the end clips

Yup, three different ones that year. If yours is still in good shape, I'd save it and reuse. The only reproduction I'm aware of is the non-vinyl roof, non-convertible version. It will fit the convertible with minor mods, but, not sure about the fitment with a vinyl roof.

It is in fairly good shape; the can has been garage kept since 1985. I was going to remove the windshield for upcoming paint, body work and a new headliner but I may re-think that plan

the one you have looks good if you could replace the chrome lockstrip and treat the rubber it would be sharp. Good luck with the project. I like the vinyl top option!

No reason you can't still remove everything. Just be careful with the gasket. The windshields are available new if you accidentally break it.

I've parted out 3 64 -65 As recently. All the rubber seals seamed reusable ! Soft and flexible.
