Good day, Glad to be reading some of the interesting and useful info/insight in the many posts listed here, have a huge project ahead. Been a long while since I had an early A-body but was extremely lucky to track an old barn find and drive it home. Thank you, Christian

Welcome! Let's see some more photos of your car!

Good day all,

Just wanted to update with some more pics of the new project.. Have been spending time and of course $$ to clean up the mechanicals and the inside but haven't so much as touched the exterior other than; the front fenders from the rubbing of the coveralls and the windows so I could drive it. Needs front floors only and right rear lower quarter metal otherwise almost 95% complete, solid and matching. Will keep apprised of future updates as best I can..

Thank you again, Christian

Awesomeness!!!

Nice find ya got there and an "S" car to boot, another Early A saved- Love it !!!

YeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

Looks like it's optioned like my car with auto on the column. Disc brakes too. 7 1/4 or 8 3/4?

Does have the front discs with only the single master cylinder, no power steering, and unfortunately still has the factory 7 1/4. Nonetheless this thing runs and drives relatively amazing and I haven't even changed out the 20+ year old Monroe's yet. Still considering installing a posi-lock in this or step up to 8 3/4? Not sure how far from stock I wanna take this car. There was a fella on the forum that had a 7 1/4 sure-grip for sale earlier this year...Still out there?

Yessssss...Another '66 saved...Welcome Aboard my brother! You come to the right place.

Welcome to the wonderful world of FABO, and welcome back to the wonderful world of the early A bodies! You picked a great little car to restore, I love it!! Am I biased to the 66's? You bet!!! Glad to have you with us!! Geof

Good eve, Making some more progress. Torn out the interior, re-did the back divider panel with some nice birch and black stain + new carpet, re-did the back seat w/new carpet and polished all the metal, and took over the reading room with more important materials. Will keep plugging along. C.

Are you sure yours does not have a sure grip rear end? Formula S models should have it even in the 7 1/4.

Was a "recommended" option for the S cars. Pulled the cover and definitely no clutches in this one. That it really the only change from stock I think I want at this point.

C.

Unfortunately,,,,,,,,,,, this was the weekend to bring the car to indoor storage for the winter and I seem to already be missing that dang car. But with a mid-winter move ahead I didn't want to have to worry about moving it the crap they throw on our roads in the winter.. However, I will still be checking the forum daily and try an update on new acquisitions and info. Thank you kindly, C.

Welcome to FABO! Best website in the World!

Nice car you have and it seems that you are making good progress on it too.
