66 slant six fit my 72 slant six tranny

Picked up a slant six from 66 dart and was wondering if it is a direct bolt on to the 72 plymouth scamp tranny. I know where the original tranny is.. I'm I better off getting the old tranny or will mine work? Do I need an adapter of some kind (crank)?

$20 adapter ring from Torque Flite Patty.Get the 66 Flex plate as well. Or if in good shape the whole tranny.

the 72 plymouth scamp tranny should be a fully sacrinized trans, thats the way I would go.

If it really is a 66 engine the hub at the rear of the crank is to small for a 68 and up automatic torque converter. If your using a manual transmission just use the flywheel that came on the engine. 60-67=1.95 diam 68 and up = 2.15 this is the size of the lip the flywheel or flex plate sits on

Measure crank hub and see if it's a small or large. The engine could have been replaced in the past

What would be the measurements of the crank hub? Measurement of small and large?

1.95 for 67 and prior and 2.15 for 68 and up
