I have no power at the fuse's until I turn key on .I also have no dash lights .and my headlights do not work until key is on .????????? any help would be appreciated

check headlight switch and maybe ammeter. Remember, the red + lead turns to a big old black + lead after the ammeter.

Is it safe to disconnect the ammeter and just wire the red and black together ?
