Casing is dated late 67 for a 68 car I am sure. But supposedly the 67 castings are more desirable. Trying to find out why or is it a myth?

I wonder it's nothing more than the novelty of first year casting and even surprise by the overlooked part that if you are casting engine blocks for the next year that would put production/casting date in the previous year ,'67 for '68 340s and '70 for '71 360s
