well got the front end corrected. bumpsteer was a big issue. at full extension it would tow in nearly 3in total. yet was only 1/8th inch at ride hieght. now we are way better and nearly the same on 4.9in extension from ride hieght. last sunday i was able to make a few passes and it went extremely strait all the way down. last pass tried to really get after it. but the track had went away and i just spun on the ice rink. but she drives strsit as hell and better thsn my tow vehicle. im happy how it drives now. 2026 im gonna get the F after it and bust some numbers off. pics below before and after. and a semi clean pass from last sunday tnt. still ran 9.4x lifting way early to boot.
i forgot to mention about 6 weeks ago. i moved the front eyelet of my leaf spring up 1in. mt driveshaft angle was way out in thebdouble digits. i cant remember what it used to be. i wanna day it was -12-14° negstive. its now -6-7° now. works much better, but shock changes was and is still needed but ran outta season to get it perfect. needed another 2-3 passes i think and it was gonna throw a big number on the board...or should i say a much lower number that is? lol
in the last 4-6weeks i went from 2.7in of front extensions to 4.9in of extension. ive got another inch left i think and thats a huge game changer for this ol grouchy bob dart. needs all new tires onall 4s. cant wait to try the new dr3 hoosier drag radials. see what good ol rick trunketts gonna get out of her in spring on the hubs and on the track. 2026 either gonns be my year or make me tears.
i got some changes and repairs to do. ill try to shoot some videos of it all and pics. keep everybody a little entertained for this long winter coming.
a few other passes from sunday for the heck of it
still spun on nearly every pass, bit it went dead strait. which its never really done. now we got a hotrod aiming to go fast finally. no more rd after rd head scratching.
yes that a .009 lighte in the middle.
this wasnt helping me. had a tiny crack and then all of a sudden 3 big cracks. fronts are now vented and have different pad compound for high heat. took it for a drive today and the whoow power is 10x greater with these rotors and pads. almost cost me my teeth cuz i damn near nit the steering wheel first time i hit them. lol like night and day differences.
another post right after this for other issues bring resolved this week. i seriously need a rear tire sponsor. slicks are getting outta hand price wise. lol
i need 1in more tow out change. then i will be 1/8in toe all together. gettinf rack adjusters made 2in longer. didnt have much thread in that thing. wasnt enough to safely get to toe correct. 1in toe i ran strait as an arrow. however the radials are showing on the front runners. so gotta fix that and mount new front tires when those show up.
anybody an alignment guy? i shortend bump steer a touch more trying to get less toe out of it. now the steering wheel is turned towards pass side as i drive. to get it to go strait. which side did this to effect the steering wheel from being strait?
unintentionally did a 30-130 pull. dragy gave me a 3.xx 60-130mph number. if you cant tell. car went towards the right. look at the right front corner of hood. maybe a little 3 wheel motion ya think? also why im working in that bump steer and front suspension right now. kinda spooked me a touch. (50sec mark)
tnt is coming for me in another week or 2 at mokan. gotta get slicks mounted and allow glue to dry for 72hrs or tjey spin on the bead a little each pass.
little pics of it. suspension is working, put mt pbr on and had my best from half ever. then spun the remainder of the 330ft to still only get 5.80 pass and down like 7mph.
as of now im pulling headd due to overheating issue while cruising. all my fault. also gonna pull the cam out and put a much bigger one in its place.
