Hi all,

What is your opinion 66 Charger or 67 Dodge Dart GT???

What is your guestimate of the value of a 67 Dodge Dart GT??? Needs new quarter panels, outer wheelhouses and then paint. Car is 100% complete. 360 and all trim work is decent...

Just a guess off the top of your heads...

Hard decision for me right now

my 69 swinger is nicer than my dads 66 charger and it apparaised for about 5 or6 k more than my swinger. If that helps any. Both are prety nice restored ccars

Thanks fore replies!

The 66 Charger was my dads. I have it at home. Flawless, rust free California car. Needs restored.

The 67 Dart GT needs the sheetmetal like I mentioned. Problem is I can't have both. Do I sell the Charger (ouch! sentimental) to buy Dart (which I love):love10:

From what I gather on internet.. $3300 seems about fair provided that he throws in the original 273 engine that he has too. It needs rebuilt though. It's on Craigslist right now for $4200 in Shirley, IL right now. I already looked at it.

Anyone elses opinion?

After talking with a bunch of MOPAR guys all over this province it seems my '67 Dart is only one of about 5 for that year that are currently in my province. Yet you talk about a '68-'70 and they are all over. I don't know what makes the '67 so unwated as it has pretty much the same general body lines. But it seems harder to find '67 dart specific parts compared to other year of darts.

Keep the Charger due to the sentimental value and due to the fact that it will be worth more than the dart if both were restored. If someone offered me a '66-'74 Charger in the same condition as my '67 Dart GT I'm sorry but I would probably trade in a heart beat.

done deal on the Charger. You are right!

'67 is that much different? I thought 67's were the same as 68,69 but for the side marker lights and grille? hmmm.. Aren't ALL the body lines and everything the exact same?

I never even thought about them being less desirable? Thanks for Charger input but now Im doubting the purchase of this dart?:banghead:

67 Darts, as it turns out, have a LOT of "67 only" stuff going on. I'm not concerned with resto exact, and right at the moment, I'm thinking about how to get rid of the "67 only" idler arm problem.

I would keep the charger. Daddy bought his when I was 1 and I would prob sale my dart before the charger.I bought my dart when I was 11. So both cars have been in the family for many many years.

Keep in mind that the 66-67 Charger is the bottom of the barrel as far as B body cars go. It's not an easy car to sell and they don't command the $ others do. I had a 66 Hemi car and it was a PIA to sell once it was leaving. You can find nice 66 Hemi Charger examples for in the high 30's. low 40's.

Since you have a sentimental attachment, that overrides any value situation.

can you elaborate on that idler arm issue?

67 was a one year only idler arm. they are EXPENSIVE compared to the 68-72 part

To change it I believe you have to change the K member if you want to use the newer idler arm. But I would not exclude a 67 for this reason

ALL B bodies go up and most a bodies do not.
The charger has some great features with the buckets in back and I love the gauges.
I have a 67 Dart and I would take the Charger but I cringe at the thought of the Dart going?
Darts can be found later but the Charger not so much..
I love the 66 Charger in a two tone
low and mean

its a done deal. I purchased the Dart and will go to pick it up Tuesday. Hope I wasnt taken for a ride. Got it for $3300. Ill post some pics. Give me some feedback. No need to be gentle.

I will keep the Charger too.

all depends what you like,,, the 66/67 charger is a love it or hate it car,,,,not popular,, but i perfer them my self over any year charger,,,, and the 360 is not orignal if in a 1967 any thing,,

The Charger is an all original rust free California car with the 383 Four Barrel.

I have not started restoring it yet. I will post pics after I pick up the Dart tomorrow night.

I think black would be a good color for the Dart.
