67 Plymouth Valiant Signet 2Dr Sedan with 273 & A/C

Chuck

I'm going to look at that 67 on Friday.
It's still there.
I'll let you know how the fenders are then.
Mike

Very nice! I love the Plymouths along with the Darts. But the Valiants are extinct up here. This post ended up in the wrong tread.I don't know what happened

Thanks. I located a pair of 73 duster fenders that I drilled the headlight area out of so I can install the 67 style and then fill in the unneeded holes. If you own a 67-9 valiant you know how hard it is to find a nice set. I will start a thread on how to modify later fenders for our cars when i get them done. This is what i had to do to remove the later buckets (pics)

There sin't much holding the bucket in and it popped out pretty easy. I have to take better care when drilling the ones i need from the rusted out 67 fenders and will have to fill in any holes I drill into them and grind them down smoothe. I don't own a welder so I have to do all of the hard stuff myself and farm that out. I will post pics of the process.

I am also going to have them blasted and primed before installing the buckets

Hi Chuck - it was great talking with you today. I subscribed to this thread, lots of good motivation here - love the job you're doing.

George

I'm dropping the fenders off at the guy. I should post a few pics of my NOS stash of parts. I finally picked up my NOS DS fender AFTER I bought these.

Turns out his welder can't use small enough flux core wire and it needs 0.20-0.25 wire and gas or carbonmonoxide

Someone is trying to force me to buy their 69 valiant signet by constantly dropping the price.....twitch twitch

She wants ME to own it after seeing what I did to my car. We just had 15" of snow here so I will wait until some of streets dry up. I wouldn't drive it in this. I'm sure it's buried anyways.

I sold My 67 Valiant. I have a super nice set of 67 valiant 100 fenders. I am offing them to the buyer of the car first. If he does not want my fenders they will be up for sale.

I did the same thing with the fenders bought 72's and then found these.

When are you going to know? I'm looking at a few whole cars to swap fenders from but would prefer not do that. My car has been on hold for almost a year now because of fenders.

I have my original hood (sunk in in the middle) was used as a shelf, the one on my car and also a fiberglass one. I'm sure shipping a hood would be high. The fenders can be reversed and put in a box or wrapped in cardboard. Let me know soon if you can.

He paid for the car already. I should know tonight or tomorrow about the rest of the parts. If he ever new how hard it is to find 67 parts

No a VFN hood bolt on. I supplied one of my hoods years ago for a template. I see mopar muscle used 1 on their project valiant. I'm maybe a mile away from VFN :)

Well crap. The NOS fender I bought has the wrong headlight bucket with no previsions for the front marker lights so I swing by to check what the body shop did with the fenders I dropped off months ago....notadamnthing. They were in the same spot when I dropped them off months ago. I was sitting there and there was a flier for a car show down the street with sponsor's and there was another body shop even closer to me. He is going to do what I need done to the DS fender for $200 and will have it ready monday. I have a decent PS at my garage I have to go pick up and have cleaned up. I also need to swing by VFN to drop my hood off for a 6 pak scoop to be added.

My VFN fiberglass bolt on hood. I had to mark all 4 sides of where my air cleaner is so they can install a 6 pak scoupe on it. I will be dropping it off this week for the install. I supplied the template 10 years ago so they could start making them for us Valiant folk's.
