'67 radiator support #'s

Were the shipping order numbers stamped into the radiator support longer on an A body than a B body? Mine is 10 chararcters long on the '67 Cuda and the ones on my B bodies are somewhat shorter. Or, is this not even the S/O number?

The VIN# for your car is on the radiator support and on the left side under the weatherstripping in the trunk opening.

Correct me if I'm wrong (new to A bodies) but the VIN# didn't correspond to the stampings on the rad. support or trunk rail until 1969. At least that's how it is for B bodies. The numbers on the rad. support, trunk rail, fender tag and build sheet should match, but not to the VIN.
