ANYONE WHO CAN OFFER ANY HELP/ADVICE,PLEASE DO. I AM REMOVING ORIGINAL LONG SNOUT PULLEY AND BLADE FROM 68 340 AND I AM CONVERTING TO NEW FAN AND CLUTCH. I AM KEEPING ORIGINAL STYLE[ DRIVER SIDE LOWER HOSE INLET] WATER PUMP. ARE THERE ANY PULLEYS THAT I COULD SUBSTITUTE TO ALLOW FOR THE SPACE NEEDED TO DO THIS CONVERSION[PULLEY DIAMETER IS 6" AND BELT TO HUB IS 3"] MY WATER PUMP HUB TO RADIATOR DISTANCE IS JUST ABOUT 7". ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.:banghead:

"long snout pulley"? The non-A/C cars used a ridgid fan with a spacer whereas the A/C cars used a fan clutch that acted as a spacer also. If you're looking for the best air flow and trouble free operation, I use a ridgid 7 blade fan and forget about a clutch fan. You lose a tiny bit of horsepower and get a bit more noise, but I can live with that knowing I have better air flow and won't have to worry about a clutch locking up or coming apart and sending the fan through the radiator.
