What is the going price for a complete 1970 440 and 727 trans? It is in a 1970 Dodge Polara 2 door hardtop, 440 automatic. The head casting numbers are 2843906. It even has the Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner.

Is it a numbers matching thing...if not I get em out of 440 Winnebagos for 200 bucks..

It has Dana 60 numbers matching. I can get the complete car , all the glass and trim and it has 14 inch rally wheels.

It should NOT have a Dana (unless it's been swapped), but it is a car that would be better saved compared to a lot of other drivetrain donors.

Are you talking about the whole car or just the..."What is the going price for a complete 1970 440 and 727 trans"

Sorry for the delay in my reply. Last week I took my kids to my Mothers in northern Indiana. I cam across a 1970 Dodge Polara 2 door hardtop with a 440. After talking to the owner and negotiating a price on the Polara he said he had a 440 with a CH4B intake cal-custom valve covers and 727 trans that came out of 1968 Charger. The car was totaled in the early 70's and the 440 had been sitting under a work bench for over thirty years. The block had oil and antifreeze in it so I checked the casting numbers and it all check out. I was thinking of parting out the Polara to help pay for the Charger 440 and trans. After thinking of making second trip up there from Memphis to get the Polara I just bought the 440 and trans from the Charger home.

It amazes me at how some of yall in different parts of the country have it MADE with prices and being able to find Mopar parts. Down here, it's either one of two things. Either you can't find it, PERIOD, or you can and it's so high, you just give up. I'm still happily surprised how easily I've amassed the parts I have in such a short time. I'm waitin on the other shoe to fall. LMAO

$700 is about the going rate for a 440/727, yours has some of the little parts that are sometimes a pain to find

Are all the 68 440 Chargers 375hp or were they 350hp and 375hp? If they were both how can you tell the difference?

Don't know but that doesn't matter...if you put a healthy cam....a good intake and some good heads you can look at 450-500 hp and if you stroke it to 520 cubic inches you can get 600 hp

If it came in a Charger it WAS a 375hp 440.

With that said, what's the deal on the big Dodge? It's too far for me, plus I'm not in the market, but that would be a neat car restored.

If I remember correctly the difference between the 350 and 375 horse 440 was the camshaft. Both motors were underrated for insurance reasons.

Looks like a late 67 block up until mid 68 as theres no horizontal rib just above the freeze plugs.Late 68 blocks have the horizontal rib. Still an excellent block.
