I'm prepping to do a refresh on the exterior of my Valiant this winter/spring and realized that my old, very faded windshield is going to look awful with updated paint.
It looks like windows are pretty easy to find and quite affordable, I'm wondering if there's any "while I'm there" projects to do around it or if it's even worth doing myself, or just outsource it.
The car isn't super rusty, but would there likely be repair required before the new window goes in? I also need to check out that sticky on this section about stopping the windshield leak, because I always have water on the driver's floor board.
If there are threads that have good detail already, just point me in that direction and I'll read up.

Sedan windshields are easy to find? Wasn't that way a few years ago. The gasket would be another thing to verify being still available. If you've never installed a windshield, I'd have a glass shop do it. Check with them to see if they will install it after you have pulled the old one. That way, you can pull the old one and fix whatever rust/leak problems at your leasure.

I'm pretty sure this is correct. Looks like it'll try to ship this month if I put in an order.
I think I read somewhere about the wiper gaskets or something like that needing to be replaced if the windshield is out, but I don't really see how that would be helpful.
I figured it's best to not install it myself but as far as I can tell, parts exist and are not heavily backordered. I'll start calling around local glass shops

That looks like the one. Yeah, check with whoever is going to install it as some places won't install something they don't sell. Even if they do, there's probably no guarantee if it breaks during installation. Something to think about.
