69 barracuda gauges

Hello, question on the 3 cones on the barracuda gauge clusters, there is two large and one small cone. On my car as well as my parts car the center of the cone is black, however I have seen the center painted silver as well. The reason I ask is I ordered replated and detailed cones and they came painted silver. Is the color dependant on the model year or interior trim package or just one of those things that could go wither way? Thanks.

My 69 w/ original rallye dash has black gauge centers. The rallye dash has "wood" grain on some of it and the rest is flat or semi-gloss black, including the glove box door. Up to 69 all the cuda dash inserts had argent silver on the flat areas but mine is black. All 67 and 68 cudas had silver gauge centers. (actually chrome) That is what I was used to seeing and the black centers threw me when I first saw it.

I do not know if a non-rallye 69 would have bright centers or not but I definitely can say they were black with the rallye dash.
