Hey guys,

These photos are of the chrome trim at the front of the rear rag top wrap around. Mine are pitted to heck. I've been on line searching for days, and can't seem to find anyone who sells these pieces.

Does anyone have a set for sale?

Know where I can buy a set?

Recommend a chroming company that won't R*%E me for having them done?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Will

The back "L" corners on my car are not the best either. Again, I can't find these anywhere.

Please help!

you should call West coast chrome, in oceanside Ca. You can mail them easy and he does a great job for IMO a fair price.

Think my originals were. In better shape than those, but it was removed 20 years ago.......LOL

but the guy that chromed them ruined them, I have sense sold them and they are on a mango (looked pink) with white top and interior 67. It was a guy I knew that was a chevy guy building a 67 dart

I got a set from a guy and rechromed them and they are very nice. They were off the car a long time

To get them restored will be expensive, Advanced Plating in Nashville, Tn did mine the second time. They will restore pot metal and make them look new. THEY ARE NOT CHEAP, but you get what you pay for and when they ruin your parts all you can do is look for another set. So before sending them to a chromer that will not take the time to correctly restore the pieces ( takes lots of time and that = expensive) you might want to find another set to send out when they ruin them

Only from what I have heard the repos do not fit quite right.

But after getting my second set chromed I had to file the tabs to get them to fit right. Not a big issue since it is under the stainless trim

Good luck getting a nice set chromed for your car

For those that have never seen my car or know me just about everything was done TWICE and some 3 x to get the quality I was looking for. It isn't perfect, but none of them are. After finishing my car I started looking at the high dollar build show cars for the mistakes, they are there in them all.

I would check with Paul's chrome also for quality pot metal restoration

Thank you, thank you and thanks again!!! I never heard of Laysons....but I've saved them in my favorites now. The photo of the chrome package: The L shape corner pieces look right.....but I don't think the other ones match my car.

SSDart: the link you sent, I believe may be for the correct front part.....but they show them not available. Rats!!!

Wildcat: That's a sweet ride buddy!!! Thanks for the sincere advice. I guess a lot of times you get what you pay for.

Bumper Boyz wants $420 for the 4 pieces. 6-8 week turn around, which isn't a big deal as I'm in Wisconsin....and the cars will be off the road until spring anyway.

Custom plating specialists: $350 for the set.

I wonder if they offer insurance in case something goes wrong??

Anyone had anything done by either of these guys?

Also: At 298 a set for new ones....I'd be all in, but again I think the front small pieces in the photo are different from mine.

OK. I got the pieces off the car. I'm guessing this is what they call "pot metal" Is that right?

Also, the photos are lawsons are for sure different on both pieces???

I would NOT deal with bumper boyz if you want quality work. Just my 2 cents

Those are NOT A-Body parts, you got the wrong picture. 67 and 69 uses the same pieces, 68 has a different front piece that has a part that fits under the stainless trim on the quarter windows.

If you want them done right the first time, Paul's Chrome is the only place I know of that is not only capable, they are the best in the business. No, they are not cheap, but they will do them correctly, and they will give you an accurate quote once they inspect the parts.

I found out Layson's is making the correct parts for the convertible 69's. They won't be available until Mid February, but that's fine as I'm in Wisconsin. (salt sucks)

$318 for all for pieces. Not cheap, but that's a titch less than the re-chroming quotes I've gotten so far.

I've looked at your parts closer, I think they will be good to rechrome. The rear corners don't look to pitted the front are so small they should be able to fix them.

Check with layson on return policy if you are not happy. I hope the rep ops are good. But be careful of quality

I didn't pick them, they're what Layson was showing on their website for the '69 Dart.

That's a great idea. I sure don't want to pay that kind of money for a crappy looking set of junk. I'm told Layson's has a pretty good reputation, but I will verify they are returnable if I'm not happy with the quality.
