So I kinda went backwards on this project. I've done a couple things since the last time I posted on here.
Oh no…. Don’t tell me you decided to cover up that awesome patina!
The ratty duster that I had got from a member on here, guy told me it had a title shortly after getting and doing the work he wanted me to do never heard from him again. Was gonna make a post on here about it but it all kinda worked out alright for me. So I sold the Duster with no title for $750 and a more period correct 318 with a small cam. Pulled the motor I already had in the valiant and put the one I got on a trade in. I installed the h&m wiring relocated the battery to the trunk, got the motor to fire just got some odds and ends I gotta figure but I'm close.
I’m hoping by fall to do something similar on my channel. This is fun stuff to me.
Dang, that was cheap enough for that Duster! Sucks you got screwed on the title though

I plan on changing my headers steering column gear box and guages next. My ps gear box is leaking and I think I'm just gonna switch to a borgeson steering box and switch to dough headers. I have the summit racing ones now and they do not fit well with ps and hang pretty low. Im going to get some autometer guages, and since I plan on getting a new steering column im gonna move it to the floor. I'll probably update here when I start the process.
Yeah I'm just glad I was happy with what I got for it. All I spent on that car was time and gas, I did not wanna go through the whole title thing again I already did with the valiant.
Really? The Summit headers don’t fit well with P/S? Weird, all 3 of mine fit mint.
That's what I've heard, and that's why I went with them but in my case they do not fit.
Finally upgraded to big bolt pattern, finding some wheels in a sbp was pretty difficult. I went with one of dr diff kits. The front are still sbp I'm supposed to be picking up some 15x3.5 center lines for the front. The rears I got on market place the back spacing isn't really correct 15x8 with a 3.5 bs but they'll do for now. I do plan on going steelies with dog dish hubcaps eventually. Will update when I get the fronts on if the deal go's through.
Got the front wheels put on finally, cleaned up a nest of wiring I had under the dash I have a plate with my msd box vr starter relay and coil. I also painted the inside of the firewall floors and trunk to prevent rust from getting worse. Went to a newer style d150 master cylinder got an adapter plate from wilwood. Didn't have much details on summit as far as what vehicles it would fit ,was advertised for 60s and 70s mopars. Well it doesn't cover the hole in the firewall on my valiant but I do plan on making a plate that will sit behind to cover the hole.
Not perfect but definitely better then what I started off with, still waiting on a steering column floor shifter and some guages. Trying out one of those cheaper dash caps definitely worth it for the time being. Will update when I get some more parts.
