That’s always been my worry and why I don’t port. I’m definitely in the “make **** heads” category. I’ll leave that to the professionals.

Lol if you saw the pile of castings I’ve killed you’d throw up.

Sometimes it just happens. Old iron castings burned me many times. That’s one reason why I don’t do cast iron any more. Unless it’s a W2. I will still do those but I charge out the pooper for them.

Aluminum can be welded and I’ve used miles of welding rod to repair bad heads, broken heads and my occasional screw up.

You really can’t learn to port unless you do it, and if you do it long enough you will jack something up.

Most guys don’t have the stomach for it.

I was busier than crap back in 1996 so I roughed in my Pro Dominator intake and then paid one of my very best friends to finish it for me.

He got a little jiggy with it and put a small hole in the runners where they meet near the plenum.

He was damn bear in years when he told me. I laughed my *** off and grabbed some filler wire and tig’d it off.

No harm, no foul. But it bummed him out hard for a week.

I think you also have to have a passion for it to be really good at it. You have to “like” porting and getting what you can out of a set of heads.

I'm going to hold off porting until I can find a affordable low deck max wedge Indy tunnel ram
(Good luck with that)
If anyone has one & they're willing to take payments pm me.
From the look of what is available in runner to grind im going to say a big NO !
My heads will take that gasket.
I'll probably change my mind tomorrow.

Is it done yet? Do I need to come out of retirement for you to finish this build? Wanna bet I can buy a junker, strip it, build it and race it before you finish? :poke::popcorn::lol:
****, I'm just trying to get some time to get rockin again.
I wish you would build another car.

Just messin with you....lol

Since I don't have the energy anymore to build another car, I'll just plan on coming over this spring with the motorhome and helping you get yours done.

Quit fuckin with it and put it together. You don’t need more porting or a bigger tunnel ram or this or that. Didn’t that thing already make 6 hundy and some change on the dyno? Put it in and go make passes. If it ain’t fast then fix it.

Or put turbos on it.

Oh, I know you're messin. Lol.
I would really enjoy that if you could do that.
Too bad I suck at winning the lottery.
Id just buy you a top fuel 1971 bodied funny car....and a stock hemi cuda

Whoa hey, if you’re passin out vintage funny cars and hemi cudas I’ll fly up there and help bolt that thing together.

I would have just done the roller cam swap, and called it “good”.

Change too many things at once, you don’t know what’s doing what.
I agree, if and when I can afford to buy bigger stuff I'll be able to use this stuff on a street car.

So, I'm just going to finish up what I'm doing to the heads now, fix the obvious wrongs on the tunnel ram and put the roller stuff in.
It is almost March and I still have quite a bit to do on the car.
