71 duster circuit board question

on the back of my gauge cluster there is a 9 pin male connector on the circuit board, should the wires that plug into the pin be in a female connector. i pulled my cluster and half the wires werent plugged up and some were just on with single plugs. thanks for any help tim

yes there should be a round plastic connector with those female terminals in it.
