'71 Scamp original engine question

Went to see a '71 Scamp today. The vin VH23 G 1R-----. 318 right, nope. 360 from the fender plate E57 .. broadcast sheet says engine #351. what would F09 engine conversion mean

318 fender tag should be E44. No 360 in A body until 74 as far as I know.
Check the serial number on the fender tag and make sure it belongs to the car.

It would probably be a 1 of 1 if it’s true. Rare for sure. Valuable maybe to the right guy. Check the engine and tranny numbers. Kim

Yeah they were the same.

In 71 the 360 VIN should be K as in VH23K1, or possibly a special order Z? I personally would have someone look at that fender tag, if you have a picture we would love to see it.

Engine assembly 351 is '71 A body 318 Automatic transmission with A/C. As far as the F09 code, Windsor plant (R) had their own coding. I would not expect that F09 at the Windsor plant meant the same thing as other plants meaning I would not decode Windsor plant F09 as meaning special engine. Notice that code is missing from this sheet.

Can you post a picture of the fender tag?
