Good Morning,

Looking to identify a 727 Transmission. The Left side flange numbers are PK 3881053. It came out of an 72 Demon that was originally a 4 speed car so I know it wasn't the original transmission in that car.

THANKS for any help....

There should be a 4 digit number right after the numbers you just gave. Those 4 digits are a 10,000 day calandar. Day 001 is 7/29/61. Example: date 01/0172 would have a 4 digit code of: 3809. Don't forget leap years. 1972 and newer 727's have a part throttle kickdown valve body which is better for passing because you don't have to floor it to kick it down.:glasses7:

Oil pan of a 904 is square with one corner missing. 727 is very irregular here are the pictures of each. First is 904 Second is 727

There is a listing for a 3681053 and it,s a 72-73 used for chrysler dodge plymouth cars with 318&360 with a weight dampener and is a heavy duty 727 unit, mrmopartech

THANKS All,

It is definitely a 727....It might be 368. These old eyes aren't what they used to be... The whole number (if you discount the 8) is PK3881053 4016 0052.

It shifts O. K. does have a couple leaks so going to drop the pan and see what there is in there. If no major chunks of shiny material I am looking to replace the seals go with a manual valve body and upgrade the converter.
