I read post on which way the caliper goes on. My question is I recieved some spindles the other day and way the lower Ball Joints are situated the calipers are to the front. Is this correct? I have a front sway bar so dont they suppose to go to the rear? Will moving them to the rear effect anything? The pitch at the top of the spindle will slope to the oter direction and I was woundering if this will cause any alignment issues? Thanks for all your Help.

I am running the factory sway bar on my 69 dart.

Thanks for added post. It affects the answer.

The calipers go forward of the centerline on the 73 & later cars. The sway bar for the 73 and later K-frames is different from earlier models. If mounted this way on your car, the calipers will hit the sway bar. Others on this site have said that the spindles can be reversed with no adverse impact on brake function.

Thanks! So I have to run them to the rear do to the factory 69 sway bay being in the way. This doesn't have any effect on the alignment?

Do you have a 1965 - 1972 K-member with the factory sway bar?

If you go the '73 spindles, I think you will have to ditch the early factory sway bar setup.

Also, once you go to the large bolt pattern, the front suspension track will be wider, and you will need to take that into consideration when you move to the large bolt pattern wheels, especially the backspacing of the wheels.

It's economical to do the LBP conversion if you already have the LBP wheels, and the rear axles (of course you can just re-drill the rear drum bolt circle).

Yes it is a 69 k-member with factory sway bar. I have new axles and brakes for the rear with the 4 1/2" bolt circle. Can I retain the factory sway bar and move the calipers to the rear?
