73 Dart Swinger project - which auto transmission

I am just getting going on a 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger project for my daughter. The car is a rolling shell and is missing the engine, transmission, and driveshaft. The VIN says it was a 318 car. It has an 8 1/4 rear end in it now. The goal is a nice cruiser for her so I don't need to worry about lots of power. I'll likely put a 318 in it. What I cannot figure out is whether it would have come with a 904 or 727 transmission (I have not found a build sheet in the car yet). I suspect either would work. What would you folks recommend? Thanks!

I would choose the 904, being cheaper, more available, but still a good reliable trans.

Yep, 904 would have been factory. No need to change unless you already have a 727 laying around.
