Obviously, the geometry has to be different on the left and right lower ball joints. But, I was surprised to see the different machining and dust covers on the two. The RH side has a much larger nest for the ball, a differently machined shoulder, and a different style dust cover. These are Moog parts (K783 LH and K781 RH). Is there a reason they are designed differently, or was it likely just a production thing in Moog?

They should be the same construction, side to side. I understand that Moog is not as good as it used to be.

Different production runs. Im sure they source many of their parts from other mfgs. The difference was they used to spec them and run tighter quality control but these days moog parts are hit or miss.

kinda what I thought. No reason to think they won't work just fine. No one will ever see the difference once installed anyway. Just want function, not perfection.
