Entered my first Purestock race at US 131 last weekend.First time the car had been on the track and my last pass was about 7-8 years ago. Happy to report the BONE STOCK Duster went [email protected] with lots of 14.60's and 70's.Can't wait for Stanton,MI in September.

This is the only pic I have so far.Waiting for my brother to e-mail me the ones he took.

Nice Car! I love the color.
What gears and trans are in there?
Good time for a pure stock car.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys!
Here is a brake down on the car:
74 duster 6cyl auto purchased from David Freiburger(CA)via e-bay and shipped to Indiana

Interior changed from green to black bench.Heater and radio delete.

73 340 dart sport front supsension w/manual disc brakes, steering, and sway bar

8 1/4 rear with 3.55 sure grip

74 360 from a real 360 duster with 63k miles, valve job and guides on the heads, shortblock untouched (110 psi cranking compression)
74 727 with stock rebuild,column shift

Brake torque at 1200 RPM on the line, shift at approx 4500 and cross the line at 4500.I made 20 passes in two days.

Good deal! Just for comparison, back in 1970 I started running my '69 340 Dart Swinger in G/PureStock at OCIR in SoCal. Best pass was a 14.28 @ about 96mph with 3.23-geared open rear and a 727. Shifted at 6,000, don't remember the trap rpm.

Very nice. Ever get those other pictures?

Rpm's are lower than I expected. Always thought they would spin to 5500 and make power up there with the 340 cam. Certainly good numbers, can't argue with the outcome, though.

Pics my bro took weren't too good but someone on the purestock board posted this one.

The low compression could be hampering the revs.I don't know how far off the TQ is either until I get my LM-1 meter on there which will be happening soon.

Congrats on your win. I have participated in the PSDR a few years back. IT is alot of fun. I wanted to go real bad this year but work got in the way. Good Luck!

Looks like you have the suspension dialed in, the left front is raising pretty good.
Keep it up.

Congrats. Those are good numbers for a stock 360. Compression sounds kind of low even for a low compression motor?
