74 duster elelctrial help

Fyi I have the service Manuel and schematics I couldn’t find it. Anyways I’m going with the American auto wire and doing the whole car since I have found numerous wiring that looks shady. But I have another issue now since I decided to take the intake and heads off and see what is in this engine i discovered a massive problem. I have a 318LA and they put 1973 360 heads and told me a mild cam. I removed the a head and found what looks like std bore and dome pistons. Now for the cam it’s whipped out the lifters are damage on the bottom and one lifter has a whole in it. Haven’t pulled the drivers side yet. But it’s a good thing I opened it up now. So either they didn’t break the cam in or those dome pistons were coming up to high on the lift with the heads and killed the lifters and cam ? What’s my solutions here bc I want to keep the dome pistons and go to a rollar cam and change the heads I need some hardcore engine advice to ensure this doesn’t happen I don’t have the money to pay someone to build it I have built one before but that was back when I was 18 and I’m 42 now. So please help I want horsepower and to not have to go through this again so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Start at thread under small block engines.
Take a picture of the heads and the pistons.
I mean the chamber and valves, and the piston tops.

As far as AAW, that's fine if you want to make a hot rod, and maybe more so if you are going to EFI, changing the instruments, or something like that. Many things you'll have to work out. For a factory set up, I think its less expensive and more straight forward to get a repop harness. The annoying issues with '74 wiring mostly being the seatbelt interlock and the engine connectors.

The lifters were not hurt by piston damage. That would have bent valves, damaged pistons to the point that you could SEE the valves hitting, and or bent / broken pushrods and other valve gear.

If it wasn't broken in, perhaps the lifters had been used/ mismatched to lobes, or oil additive was not used. There are threads on here, folks are having problems with flat lifters. "May be" a metalurgy problem, I do not know

Seat belt & key in buzzer can be found in the 1974 Chrysler Plymouth factory service manual on page 8-176.
Also see seat belt buzzer on page 8-195- CI-25.
American Auto Wire will take much longer to install than a M & H reproduction harness but that decision is up to you.

Thank you guys. I am going with the American wire bc I need more than just the in dash harness which is 800. The rear harness I found when removing the rear seat is brittle that’s another 250. And with the engine harness. I’m over 1000 in harnesses anyways. I know it’s going to take awhile but that’s fine I have nothing better to do and the car is already down due to what I found in the engine yesterday. But will see how it goes rather just redue it all and be done with it this car has been sitting and stored in desert environment so you can imagine the wiring from the heat. I’m at the point where I’m starting over with wiring and engine so I know what’s exactly in it.
