741-742 pinion yoke swap

can I swap the the yokes from the cases, the 742s driveshaft pinion yoke has been welded and I dont trust it, while my 741 is in great condition. Im swapping out the 741 for the stronger 742, also will the 741 axles work with the 742 they are the 5on4 pattern that are in my 70 duster with a manual and tow package any help would be great........thanks jim

Yes if both the 742 and the 741 pinions will be 10 spline so they will interchange and all 8 3/4 have 30 spline axles so the carriers also interchange.
