So can I use this to take out that slack or do you guys think I need to look somewhere else for the problem?
No, 1/8 inch is a lot! More looking is needed!

Okay guys, I tore into the rearend. I went cheap, didnt replace the bearings. But, I packed the bearings full of grease and replaced the seals. I decided to put it back together and try to adjust the end play (because I really didnt want to pull the diff) well, a little over 2 full turns and the end play is fixed! So, when someone gives you a rearend and says it's good to bolt in and go, you should still go ahead and check out the basics on it. Someone apparently pulled this apart and didnt do this right!
I put the end play at about .008! Nice and tight! Thanks everyone for the help!!!
I did not replace those, It required replacing the bearings to do so, because apparently you have to pretty much cut and split the old ones off. My old ones looked okay, if I have to replace bearings I'm just going to go to the green bearings!Did you replace the outer seals and how? Without pulling the bearings? Glad you got it though!
