I have an A body 8 3/4 with stock A body axles thats going in a 71 Duster. Can I use 2" drum brakes and backing plates from a B body 8 3/4?

..............No, the offset is different...........if u get big bolt pattern axles like the B body brake drums then u can......kim.....

You can use the 10 X 1 3/4 B-body brakes that come on some mid 60's 6 cylinder cars if you redrill the bolt pattern and do something about the center hub register but those brakes are harder to find than the A-body ones.

Thanks guys...I am going to do some further measuring to find out for sure what housing I have. Not real sure at this point as I purchased it at swap meet. The distance from spring perch to spring perch fits an A body, and the axle length matches up with A body measurements, however the axles appear stock and have a 4.5" bolt pattern and from what I understand A bodies never came with 4.5" bolt pattern?????

Not in an 8 3/4 rear end they didn't....only the 4" pattern. The '73-6 7 1/4 rears could have the 4 or 4 1/2" pattern.
