Can anyone tell me what the width of the rear end should be. I am going to mini tub the car all the way to the frame rails and just wondering if anyone else has done this and how much i need to cut down the rear end housing?

I,m doing a minitub on my 66 Dart soon,I have the A-body 8 3/4 in there now.When it comes time for new rims and tires,I,m just gonna get rims with a bigger backspacing so no shortening of housing or axels.Good Luck.
It all pretty much depends on your wheel/tire combo.
Mine ended up being 51" wheel to wheel utilizing a 10" wheel w/ 3.75 BS.
Most folks mock the wheel/tire combo up underneath the car and take a real world measurement.

Sorry guys I just got back in town from visiting my parents and brother out in Iowa. Thanks for the info I think I'll get the a-body 8-3/4 rear end and have it cut down to 50 inches. New strange axles, 489 third member sure grip with 410 gears. Do you guys think that will fit ok ?
