Hey guys, I just picked up an 8 3/4 from a friend. I thought it was an a body rear. I even pulled it out of a 72 demon. Its a 741 case with 2.94 open gears. So the story goes I clean it up and tonight i try to install it in my barracuda. I get it bolted to the perches, and one spring back up to the body. So I move over to the other side and notice its about 2'' from the holes. I measured the perches and the drums. Its 44'' on the perches and 58 1/2'' on the drums, and before i get it I know I should have done that before I tried to install it. :banghead:
So i guess what im asking is what is my best route here. I know Im going to have to move the perches. But should I have the tubes cut? I dont want it to be a a pain to find rims for it. Ive been laid off for a month now and with the rear out of the car it kinda holds me up on the rest of it. I cant afford to have a shop cut the tubes.
thanks guys
