8.75 locking pawl alignment

I need to know what to do on my locking pawl alignment. The one on the passenger side (right side) is fine but the drivers side (right side which is the adjustment side for backlash) is off quite a bit. I have the backlash right at .008.

Assemble it as shown in the first pic, tap the tab with a hammer, and install it as is.

Have u checked the bearing preload? Turn the adjuster that little bit more to line it up. Kim

Maybe you could take a couple tenths off the face of the ring with a good stone?
