swapping an "A" body 8.75 rear diff. into my 73 dart swinger. I purchased the Yukon axles with green bearings installed. i do not have a sure grip. the R/H axle went right in. The L/H axle stops about 1" short of going in all the way. It feels like its hitting the spider gear pin. Has anyone an idea of whats going on?

Who did you get them from.

They have been known to be the wrong length, too long.

your carrier has a block in it that slides back and forth for the adjustable axles you have to get the block out of your carrier

The thrust block could be another issue. Don't need the thrust block with green bearings.

You can verify that this is your problem by taking the nuts off on the right hand side and see if your left axle slides all the way in while pushing the right side out. If so your going to have to remove the third member and remove the sliding axle thrust block.

THANKS EVERYONE, I THINK I'M PULLING MY THIRD MEMBER AND REMOVING A THRUST BLOCK. I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE PROBLEM ,BUT I THOUGHT THE BLOCK HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE SPIDER GEARS.

No, the block has a slot in it that the cross shaft goes thru. You can remove it with no problems.
