904 dipstick stuck???

so wtf is going on here? The dipstick is literally half way in and stuck???? Please help

I'd drop the pan and replace the filter for starters. Have you been driving it like that?

Looks to me like it's caught on the brake line, but my eyes might not be great.

Also the tube is not bolted to the transmission from the looks of it.
Time to fix a few things in that area of the car.

They often get a little stuck there as they go in but you should be able to wiggle it past that point

Optical illusion. Glad we ruled that out, lol.

Try pulling it out and rotating it some before trying to put it back in.

If that doesn't work, get a helper to put it in while you get underneath and listen to hear if it's hitting the bottom of the pan.

Drop the pan, push the stick all the way down in the tube and show us how much of the dipstick is below the case. As suggested, too long and probably the wrong stick for the tube.
