get a 24 spring kit for the front clutch pac....to replace the single wound big spring....it will help keep the front clutch disc alive...

you dont need a bolt in spraq...4.2 lever for the front band apply....upgrade the rear servo with a sonnax kit....

Performance Automatic max performance kit...thats what iv ordered,
not really much info its all generic wording on summit site

i will have a look in tech ..cheers for info

iv ordered the following .
summit deep pan (could have re used old one, but as its all going into a fresh 904, why not)
performance automatic race rebuild kit
TCS band strut
TCS pump gear
Mopar sonnix servo
mopar 4.2 band lever
Cope Transmission 24 spring front kit

would it be wise to get a low reverse billet servo too?

im in at over $900 so far just in these few bits, and money is starting to get thin.

900 dollars? My God, what are you gonna do with the thing?

Yep. I agree. But that's the problem with not living in the USA. You've got to add shipping costs, tax & import duty to the UK. We also have the same issue here in Germany.
Just shipping, handling, tax & customs can add up to more than the parts themselves. Then when that's done you have to have an eye on the currency exchange rates.
Sometimes, even a small order can empty your wallet quicker than your wife.
But we love our hobby & live with all the bureaucracy. Sure it sucks, but parts dont grow on trees.
Cheers. Gaz

does the pan come with a filter extension? if not, get one from Cope, along with the billet reverse servo.
Same question here, whats in the race rebuild kit.

I would have just gone to Cope to get everything on your list

Should have use the list that Mad Dart had in his post....You would be money ahead with the same quality of parts......

I'd replace the sprag springs and rollers typically but don't remove the unit itself if it looks like it has a good bite on the case. Those parts are $10-$15 around here.

The link to the MadDart build says the page cannot be found , I bought all my stuff from TCS in Langley BC , they make a lot of their own parts including billet steel or aluminumfront drums that are machined with the retaining ring grooves relocated for additional frictions , IO bought the billet steel ubit and it included the 24 spring unit as package .
PS- the deep pans are available for a real good price from the dealership as a kit that includes the extension , longer bolts and a new filter .
PPS- AJ/FormS the 904 has a riveted sprag and a smaller drum diameter so there is no need for a bolt in replacement .

Here it is again....... and to be clear this is Tony 70aarcuda and Crackedback's recipe.... I just made a list for ya'll

You don't need to go all crazy for a 904 to handle the power you are going to be putting through it. Just remember that. People get all caught up in all these exotic parts etc when it is not necessary. If you want the low gear set that is your choice. I have a a999 that is tore down in my shop right now that has the Low gear set but it only had 4 clutches in the front drum. So take that for what it is worth.
The 904 that I built I copied and used the parts that were recommended to me from guys I know that have been successful racing. The parts I was told to use will easily handle more than most would ever put through it. From how hard they run their cars I do not doubt them for 1 bit. Cost of parts was somewhere in the $500.00 range not counting the Valve body or Converter. This was the first one I have ever built and I probably got maybe 6 Hours total into it from tear down to painted…. Done.
What you will find out is when you go to get the parts, no single vendor will have them all. I would also say stay away from the BIG name brand guys because they will for sure take all your $$ for the exact same thing you can get down the street for a lot less. There is no magic to building one of these transmissions but most will try and brain wash you & will try to get you to believe different.

Also there is no need to find a certain year transmission for the 5 clutch front pak. Use the thin Reds and steels to make your own 5 Clutch front Drum. This is what I did. Simple easy.

This should be plenty of info on where to get the parts and at least get you started.

I am a blindo. I didn't even see you were in a different country. My apologies.

Hi all,
i did follow maddarts list, and i would have gone to cope for everything, but they didnt list some of it, neither did TCS, neither did Mopar or Origon transmissions
I had to buy bits from all over, which made import tax, and shipping TWICE the overall cost.
the PA rebuild kit has kevlar bands, seals, red and steel plates, filters ect ect
The summit pan has the extended filter too, i wanted alloy to strengthen the case.

I already run a turbo action manual reverse valve body, and a engine matched TA loose converter

also, my question didnt really get answered, so

would it be wise to get a low reverse billet servo too?

If you need a place to send all the items and one box shipping to UK, let me know. I'd be OK with helping out to save you some money.

It is too bad that everything can't be bought at one place. Some of the big names take the stuff from a transtar kit and sell it at a marked up price.

i spent a whole day searching and searching for one company that could do all of it.
i just gave up and got it from all over.
appreciate all your help guys :)

Watch what you say or you will get a nasty PM....LOL

Yes, get a billet low/reverse servo. last thing you want is something failing and the replacement parts across the ocean in the US.

Hey I am planning a reunion with my family at my home in Scotland early next year in Edinburgh and am having a lot of things shipped there for my car I am taking over next year. I might be able to fit some stuff in the shipping container. I was planning the reunion this Christmas and new years but that fell through and had to reschedule for February so let me know and it could save you a load of cash! I will be scheduling my shipment container and car late January so it will be delivered shortly after we arrive next Feb. I can add about 500 more pounds without any problems. It will arrive at the port of Leith near Edinburgh and trucked to my house about 30 minutes from there. Where are you located? City or UK postcode? My home is off A199 near Holyrood Park area. I have family all around London areas so will be going into London often and can deliver for you or meet you somewhere for a pint and chat!
