hey guys first post and i know i should do some searching for old/similar posts before i go ahead and make new ones but i have a few various quick questions.
i'm looking at buying a set of heads off a guy for a motor unrelated to my dart. he had them up on craigslist as 340 heads so i called him to see what the casting #s were. 3418915 B is what he could read so i knew they actually are 340 heads.
from what i have heard that would make these either 70' (6 pack?) or 72' heads.
does the B indicate anything as for what year? he also said it looked like 05040 was cast on them else where?
the guy has them up for $500 but he said he just threw the number out there (and i wouldn't pay that anyway as they need to be stripped and re-done valves etc). i was thinking of offering more like $300.
they also have aluminum roller rockers on them that are gold and in very nice shape but do not appear to be made by crane-all i could think of that are gold/orange-ish?
