not really. that's about rate for a complete 340. they're all over CL & OU in various states of disassembly or completeness and not a one of them is under 2K

340 4spd stuff is pay to play.

Thanks for the info. Might end up going with a newer EFI Hemi or Magnum Engine instead.

Look for a 318/360 out of a later truck, cheaper all around, A 340 has just crazy nostalgic pricing.

magnum is bang for the buck. if you can find somebody that's adiosing a 360 or stroker in favor of a bigger stroker or a G3 that might be the jam as well.

1968 Chrysler 340 engine with 727 transmission, removed from car years ago tired but running. Stored inside until last month.
Crank turns freely. Photo shows plugs last run in engine. Block casting 2780930-340-1, casting date 6-17-68

X heads, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, distributor, plugs and wires, starter, flex plate, torque converter, water pump,
fuel pump, motor mounts, linkages, pulleys, alternator and power steering pump brackets.
