So to go a long with the Magnum Engine swap thread, here is part of the trans info.

44re from a Dakota

Split the tunnel for better viewing, cut out the original cross member and will be doing plate reinforcements.
Once the floor is welded and sealed with carpet, you will never know the difference, except the 2200 rpm cruising.

Made a upper support from two pieces of flat bar. Bent to the shape of the original and then added small pieces in between to reinforce it. Welded it all together, nice and strong.

I'd like to see a detailed thread on the A500 into the 63-66 A body. I'm concerned about any differences in the cross member; plus taking this opportunity to clear the way for dual exhaust.

I’m pretty sure I will have to forgo my plan to run a 4 speed and go with the A500 I have. I will certainly document it
