If this is factory wiring there should be no need to go that far. Originally, the choke was simply tied to the IGN1 "run" line, usually dark blue. This is the ONLY key switched line out into the engine bay, except for the IGN2 bypass circuit, active only during cranking.
The IGN1 "run" is powered ONLY in run and powers stuff like the ignition system, the voltage regulator, alternator field on 70/ later cars, electric choke if used, and on some newer models, a smog doo dad or two. IT IS NOT FUSED
