for what the op's asked for it seems to be the easiest/cheapest way to his goals. and how many 318's had good compression before slating the compression of 360's? and yes i've had a few 318's and i like them too (they are more frugal i agree) so there's no need to slate one motor for the same issue another has.Disagree with the seemingly automatic reply of "slap a 360 in there"
That isn't the automatic solution to every engine question like some people seem to think it is. I've had some 360s that were worse slugs than a typical tired stock /6.
Yes I prefer 318s to most 360s.
The 360s suck *** unless they have had some compression added. I dunno why Mopar had to put dishes pistons in 99% of all the 360s that they ever made.besides being gas sucking pigs
