71 340 used Engine price

I'd probably be at $1,500 firm, BUT I would allow anybody to pull it down to measure and inspect or I do that myself so there are no surprises later. I sold my old '73 340 with '73 340 heads for $1,500, but it was standard bore with enough wear to need new pistons and be bored.
 

Actually the number I see is on the passenger side above the oil pan.. 9*23*70
Look lower. Right above the pan on a machined pad. It'll look like this although this is a 440. Notice the oil pan in the pic.

9 * 23 * 70 would be the casting date of the block. It’s on the side of the block, it’s a raised casting.

The stamped sequence number would be on the raised ID pad by the oil pan rail. It’s stamped into the block ID pad.
 
I sold the 340 block minus the Air Gap Intake for $900. Thank you all for the input
