as long as it jumps up in RPMs fast and stays there long enough to make the power.
hy-lifts are great. OEM replacement melling lifters work great too. never had a problem with them. or have a set refaced.so i asked my engine rebuilder about what lifters he will use on my 340, he replied johnson hy-lift... do you guys think thats a good choice or should i place a wanted ad for some used 340 lifters and have them re-surfaced?
my engine guy said hes never had a problem with them....
i completely agreeBe sure to use a good oiling system, for your 340.
A High Volume Melling pump, Wix oil filter, factory windage tray ( if using a stock pan)... and if so, make sure it is baffled.
The Blueprint distributor is almost 100% indistinguishable from stock. The only main difference in appearance is the male HEI terminals on the cap and they are hidden when the wires are installed. @Johnny Mac can chime in and tell you more.
Myself, 100%. Heat kills transmission and I always run an auxiliary trans cooler before routing back through the factory radiator cooler. You spent good money on the trans/converter, take care of it. You can always paint it black to make it stealthier.Just got the 727 rebuilt and a new Coan converter with 2500 stall. Would you guys recommend that i use a transmission cooler inline with my radiator for this stock build or is it over kill?
i also went with the deep cast aluminum tranny pan
