Maybe I'm nuts... buy I want a sunroof in my '64 Valiant hardtop. I don't want it all modern and electronic though. Any recommendations? I want it to open manually, with a vintage look.

Look for a 70's space duster or dart sport hang ten edition that has a sunroof in it. My old hang ten had a sunroof that was manually cranked. You can probably get the whole setup from one car

I'm thinking of adding an aftermarket sliding or fabric (ragtop) sunroof. Am I correct that the V200 hardtop has the same frame strengthening that the convertible has? Has anyone installed a sunroof in an early valiant and has photos/tips? I need a new headliner anyway and want to do all the work at the same time. Am I on a fool's venture?

ya might find a custom hotrod type shop, they can build a navy cruiser out of a beer can....!!only factory sunroofs I remember would be out of some dusters, 71 up chargers..... seen a few yrs ago in bone yards, crank operated, they were pretty bad shape 20 yrs ago!!!!

When I was at the 85 Nations in MI, I was cruising through the hotel parking lots in my 65 Dart GT 'vert when a lady came out waving and made me stop. She said she had a 65 Dart hardtop the same color back in Canada and my 65 was the only one she'd seen there. Said if I was ever up in the area, please stop by and see her car. Since I was making a side trip through Toronto on the way back to VA, I did stop and took a look at her GT hardtop. It had a metal sliding sunroof in it and she insisted it was factory installed. Whoever installed it did a great job and it looked factory even on the inside. Seems to me that if the donor sunroof had the same profile as the Valiant (or the Dart I saw), It ought to be fairly easy.

You ever owned a car with a sunroof?
Very over rated , Hell my 06 megacab came with one for free and I'll bet we have used it about 5 times in 8 years. Doesn't help either if your like me and need a little sod on the fairway = burnt dome.

To each his own but would seem like a damn shame to butcher up on an old Mopar, now if it was a Ferd or Chubby, Hack away !!!

I had a 76 charger with a factory sunroof. It was a manual crank, roll back type. Great for shooting rabbits at night when times were tough and the freezer was empty. The only problem was that if the guy shooting (I drove) wasn't careful, the .22 shell casings would fall back into the car, and sometimes down my shirt! :protest:
