Aftermarket tach in rally cluster 67-71

This one come out of one almost just like that

Only thing I see differently is auto meter changed over from the knob in the 60s and in the 70s went to a smoother knob and kept the smoother knob until it went flush mount

Finally found an auto meter vintage 8K

Looks like a nice clean install. I'm thinking about doing this as I may have to pull the cluster to change my dash pad. I should have done it last year when the whole dash was out (the idea hadn't even crossed my mind). Do you know what the id of the tach plug is? I assume the tach face is slightly larger. I was thinking about the Autometer 3780 (if it takes the 3 3/4" tach) as it goes to 8000 rpm. Thanks.

Excellent work man, they both look great and the visibility is a huge improvement over the stock tach which I was disappointed in after installing. If I get another rally dash car I’m putting the 8k auto meter in.

Do you know if the autometer 3 3/8 and 3 3/4 tachs both have the same 3 3/8”od can?

Yeah me too. I don’t really want an 8k or 10k tach when redline is 5500. If you are looking for something stock like there are slim pickings. There are a couple 6k tachs and if you want 6k at 1 or 2 o’clock good luck.
