ali waterpump swap...gaskets?

hello, have just recieved my new ali waterpump from across the pond,well happy with quality etc,came with pump to housing gasket,swan neck gasket.....now i dont want to sound a spaz #-o but do you fit one between pump and block or silicone etc? in uk its termed face to face. cheers in advance! heres to some lbs lost and better cooling:colors:

There should be a gasket between the water pump and timing cover, you could use a thin glaze of silicone on both sides of the gasket if you want, won't hurt anything. Also use some non hardening thread sealant on the bolts upon re-assembly.

hello, cheers for reply, have since purchesed new gaskets and all put together, have weep coming thro bolts from waterpump to pump housing, bit odd:cry:used new gasket supplied and only change was i bought stainless bolts same 3/8 thread/length and tightened up tite, bit weird.

Those bolts should have some non hardening sealant on them. Some bolt go into the water jacket and some are blind holes.

If you drop your water level and pull the ones that are weeping, seal them up and no more problem.
