Alternator Mounting hardware/ Frame clearance in a Duster

-
You will likely need to trim the pinch weld off. Then just put the bolts into the alternator and put it in place. Start the top, then the bottoms and tighten them all. Piece of cake. You can get a Jeep alternator, which is supposed to offer more clearance, but I've never gotten a straight answer on how much space it saves. Sublime technologies sells pulleys to allow the Jeep alternators to work on the 6.4 belt spacing.
It's not that simple. The lower two bolts are 2-3 inches up from the frame rail and there is no way to install them in the car because the bolts are 6-9 inches long.

Good info, I was unaware of the part from Sublime. As a plus, the bolts go in from the front of the motor instead of the side, so they should remove the issue of installing them for those that have that problem.

That said, my TC cover doesn't have the top hole drilled to the final size, so it's not a complete bolt on to use the older alternator for some.

Here's some pictures from @Ozyduster of his mockup:

Yes next time this might be a better solution. The alternator setup I have for the Jeep/ Car setup that I have mounts two of the bolts from middle of the pass. frame and the top left side of the inner fender which is easy in the car.

You're engine must be closer to the passenger side than others. I've done this many times and it's not a problem. Just cut the bolts down so they aren't so long.

Yeah, no, there is maybe less than 2 inches of space. And I would say not. I have an after market K frame and the Driver head is already closer than I like to the steering column.
