Alternator mounting problem

Hey guys,
I'm getting ready to install the engine in my 68 Cuda and I am having a prooblem mounting the alt.. I installed Edelbrock heads on the 318 and the back of the alt. is just touching the front of the head. I was thinking maybe i missplaced a spacer or something during disassembly but I'm not sure. If anyone has pictures of a pre 70 engine bay and could post them it would be very helpful.

i have a 1969 dart with a 340 and edelbrock heads and im also having the same problem. im also using pre 70 alternator brackets . anybody else had this problem and if so what would be the remedy .

how about a little longer belt. i know on my 70-up style set up a longer belt let the alt. swing enough to clear everything.

I don't know that these shots will help much, but this is in my '72 Demon with a 408 & Eddy heads showing with the old and new alternator.
